Japan Game Awards 2025 “Future Division” Winners Announced!

On September 28th, the highly anticipated winners of the “Future Division” for the 2025 Japan Game Awards were officially announced. The competition in this category was exceptionally fierce, with several blockbuster titles competing for recognition.
The Japan Game Awards 2025 “Future Division” is dedicated to all unreleased products (including video presentations and hardware) announced or exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Based on online voting conducted from September 25th to 27th, followed by selection committee reviews, the awards recognize works that have garnered high public anticipation and praise, and are deemed promising for future development. The awards were presented during a ceremony on September 28th.
This year, a total of 11 works received awards. CAPCOM emerged as the biggest winner, securing four spots (Resident Evil 9: Requiem; Pragmata; Monster Hunter Stories 3: Fate of the Twin Dragons; Megaman Rockman Perfect Collection). Other selected titles include Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Soul of Yotei, Koei Tecmo’s Nioh 3 and Zelda Musou: The Seal of War, Sega’s Like a Dragon: Kiwami 3, Bandai Namco’s Digimon Story: Chronos Intruder, and IzanagiGames’ Akatsuki Undertrace. The open-world RPG Infinity, developed by NetEase Games, also received an award, recognized for its revolutionary gameplay and profound cultural depth. With its unique urban fantasy theme, high-quality visual presentation, and innovative gameplay design, Infinity has received high praise from media outlets both domestically and internationally since its announcement.
The “Future Division” of the Japan Game Awards not only affirms the potential of these developing titles but also provides global players with a highly valuable “future games watchlist.” As these works are released sequentially, the gaming market in 2026 and beyond may experience a new wave of excitement.
Other award categories of the Japan Game Awards, including the “Award of the Year” and “Excellence Awards,” are expected to be announced during the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) and are worth continued attention.
