The Global Finals for Identity V Call of The Abyss (COA) VI is Around the Corner!
The world is watching and waiting for the Global Finals! Identity V by NetEase Games is about to start its annual global carnival – Call of the Abyss (COAVI) Global Finals, Identity V’s most prestigious e-Sport event that holds the greatest honor and boasts an increased prize pool of 585 thousand dollars.
To win the trophy of the world champion, elite teams from six major regions around the world forged ahead through challenges along the way. In the end, eight teams from the Chinese mainland, three teams from Japan and one team from Southeast Asia made it to the playoffs of the Global Finals.
Who will be the winner of this year’s world championship? Stay tuned for the COAI happening from April 30th- May 3rd!
Ultimate Game Among the Best of the Best.
The World Championship of COAVI is composed of a group stage and playoffs. Two weeks of competitions in the group stage from April 7th to April 18th have come to a perfect close. Through the single-round point race, 12 teams out of 20 from the six regions qualified for the knockout stage and they are Wolves, FPX.ZQ, DOU5, GG, WBG, ACT, Gr and GW from the Chinese mainland, AXZ, ZETA and FL from Japan and ZT from Southeast Asia.
The playoffs will follow a single-elimination format. There are five rounds: eight winners finals, quarterfinals, semi-finals, third-place playoffs, and finals. Winners in the group stage will advanced to the next round of quarterfinals or advanced to the 1/4 finals with byes. The second and third teams will combat with each other in the 12 to 8 finals, and the winner of the round will compete with the teams that advance to the quarterfinals previously.
The playoffs will be held from April 30 to May 30, which is also the stage for the final competition of this year’s COA.. 12 teams will be standing out from the group stage, but who will continue the journey to the world championship to win the trophy for the champion? Offline Carnivals in Chinese Mainland and Japan!
COAI Global Finals will be held concurrently in Tokyo, Japan and Hangzhou, Chinese Mainland. On that day, international teams will gather at the SHINJUKU SUMITOMO HALL in Tokyo for a cross-border showdown with the teams gathered at the CHINA HANGZHOU ESPORTS CENTER in Chinese mainland..
To deliver a superb watching experience for the audience, the venue in Tokyo will upgrade its stage effect under the COAVI Starry Sky theme. There will be photo booths and peripheral products available for purchase outside of the venue just to create better interactions with fans and better experiences. What’s more, various benefits will be available at the online and offline venues for fans as well!
Ultimate Combat among Top Teams.
This playoff has completed the draw for grouping. Wolves, FPX ZQ and DOU5 made it to the top 8 after hitting No.1 in each group. AXZ from Japan also advanced to the Top 8 with the best performance in the group stage.
The rest teams including GG, WBG, ACT, Gr, and GW from the Chinese Mainland, ZETA, FL team from Japan, and Zt team from Southeast Asia, will fight in the battle of the Top 8 on April 30.
Three advanced teams from Japan are all competitive! As the winner of 2022IJL two times in a row, ZETA is the top-level team in Japan and the most powerful candidate for COAVI World Champion. AXZ team has been aggressive in this year’s COA with an impressive performance during the qualifiers, advancing to the knockout stage as No.1 of its group. FL is the most experienced team with multiple players who have been to COA before.
Zt from Southeast Asia was the only team from the region for the playoffs. Zt was the runner-up team in Southeast Asia IVC with an impressive performance in this year’s COA. Their special lineup “Friends in the Manor” of Identity V helped the team advance to the playoffs after beating up three strong opponents.
