That’s a wrap on Content Canada’s inaugural Digital Summit

After a month of panel discussions, award presentations, spotlight sessions, market access programs, pitch meetings, fireside chats and master classes, Content Canada’s Digital Summit drew to a perfect close.
This was Content Canada’s first all-virtual event with a clear mission to keep the industry connected during these unprecedented times.
Content Canada facilitated over 250 one-on-one national and international pitch meetings; successfully launched the first cohort of the Canadian Creative Accelerator; and published over 15 hours of new, compelling and timely content which is now available on demand on its site at www.contentcanada.net.
Providing the Canadian market with the unparalleled opportunity to share its messages locally, and amplify them globally, Content Canada’s sessions and programs reached an audience of more than 100,000 content executives worldwide.
Reimagining its two-day flagship event into a month-long virtual format was a formidable task, but one it was anxious to take on to ensure the Canadian industry was offered the thought leadership, market access and creative inspiration it expects from Content Canada’s annual event.
Ferne Cohen“First and foremost, we want to thank our founding partners: Bell Media, CBC, Canada Media Fund, Corus Entertainment, Lionsgate and Rogers Group of Funds, for their continued support; along with all the other tremendous partners and participants who supported the industry and made our Digital Summit possible. Each one of them worked with us to present meaningful and important content, thought leadership and market access”, said Ferne Cohen, Content Canada CEO.
“Although we missed being able to meet in person, through our Digital Summit we were able to provide much more content, to an exponentially larger international audience, and connect even more producers and executives to keep the industry moving forward. Virtual has its silver lining!.”
Many of the programs introduced through the Digital Summit will become a permanent part of Content Canada’s offerings because of their success and utility for the Canadian industry. Content Canada will continue its mission to showcase Canada’s role in the global content industry, and provide its community with access to the international marketplace, with its exclusive Digital First initiatives; including targeted market access programs, compelling editorial content and Industry Suites. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.
