Submissions to the call for films for the 5th edition of the Abidjan Animation Film Festival (FFAA) continue until JANUARY 16, 2022.

FFAA (Abidjan Animation Film Festival) is a cultural meeting that will offer its participants another vision of animation and its leading role in the employment and development of countries around the world.

Every year, Abidjan will be the capital of the animation and for 3 days will be held various activities that will celebrate animation. Like the biggest animation festivals in the world, the FFAA wants to be international and unifying around a common passion. Du the pandemic situation, the 2021 edition will be online.

Rules & Terms

  1. Which works can be entered?

Any African – and other continent produced short, TV and feature animation compete before 1st january 2018 to one of the following categories:

a)- Feature film

b) Short Films

c) TV Short Films, Episodes and Webisodes – TV Specials/Short Films

– TV Episodes and Webisodes

d) Commissioned Short Films

– Educational or Scientific Short Films

– Advertising or Promotional Films

– Music Videos

e) Graduation Short Films

 

2. Technical specifications

a) For selection

Videos must be uploaded directly to FilmFreeway or a web address (URL) must be embedded when submitting for all forms of films submitted to the Festival.

Suitable URLs include YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox.

Only films in video streaming will be considered.

URL links protected by a password should be downloadable and active up to 31th may 2021.

b) For screenings in the official selection

Directors, producers or distributors undertake to provide the presentation copy and a poster before mars 2020.

Selected films must be supplied using Prores 422 (HQ) 1080 or High Quality H.264 codec.

They can be submitted digitally via an embedded URL.

Suitable URLs include YouTube, Vimeo or Dropbox.

3. Online submissions

Only correctly completed FFAA FESTiVAL FilmFreeway submissions will be considered and must be received before 25th mars 2020.

4. Selection

The selection is led by the AIFA Content Curation Team and Festival Director. The chosen films will make up the Festival Official Selection.

The Festival will inform the person submitting the film by email if it has been selected, at the same time requesting material necessary for the publications and screenings. After being notified entrants have till 15th april 2021 to withdraw from the programme. No film can be withdrawn after this date.

If a film has not been selected, the Festival will inform the person submitting the film by email before 25th april 2021.
