Roya Media Group Partners with Japan Foundation to Bring Iconic Anime ‘Astro Boy’ to Jordanian and Arab Audiences
Roya Media Group received a TV program “Astro Boy” from Japan on July 25. Foundation based on the signed agreement, under which Roya TV will broadcast the Japanese cartoon series for Jordanian and Arab audiences in Roya Kids segment.

Ambassador of Japan to Jordan, Mr. Okuyama Jiro, having received Ms. Hala Zureiqat, consultant and representative for Roya Media Group along with Mrs. Lara Safadi, Manager of Roya Kids and Roya Team at the Embassy of Japan in Jordan, stated that the agreement contributes to strengthening cultural exchanges between Japan and Jordan.
Ms. Zureikat welcomed the signing of the agreement and expressed the group’s appreciation for Japan Foundation’s contributions in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Okuyama expressed his appreciation for the continuous support of the Japan Foundation and Roya which provides and broadcasts TV materials respectively.
He added: “The number of Jordanians who are interested in Japanese animation is increasing and this is key for them to dive into the Japanese culture and language”.
Mrs. Lara Al-Safadi stated that Roya Kids is always proud of its cooperation with the Japanese Embassy and the renewal of partnerships year after year. Roya Kids is keen to provide various content within its platforms for our children, especially Japanese animation, which is distinguished by its high quality and valuable content.
“Astro Boy”, known in Japan as “Mighty Atom”, is Japan’s first animated TV series based on the original manga created by Tezuka Osamu, one of the most famous Japanese manga artists and animated film writers in the world.
In Japan, it started being broadcast in 1963. It is a story that showcases the quest for peace and justice in a fictional manner, presenting the question: “Could robots learn to replicate human emotions ?”
