Mediawan Rights has acquired worldwide rights to the documentary Charles III, The New King produced by Thematics Prod (Mediawan) for TF1. Sales was launched at MIPCOM (October 17 to 20).

On September 8, the world learned that the Queen of Britain died after 70 years of reign.

It is now time for her son, long known as Prince Charles, to accede to the British throne.

The documentary looks back at some of the key moments defining the life of the new King Charles III, from his solitary childhood and his passion for sports to his failed marriage with Diana and the long rehabilitation of his reputation with the British people. The feature reveals traits of his personality that are little known to the general public.

It depicts a singular and resolutely modern portrait of the King a voice on the environment for many years, and a man who has managed to get gradually closer to the British people as well as making them accept Camilla, the love of his life. This documentary enlightens the monarchy of tomorrow.

The Mediawan Rights documentary team has already presold the film in Canada, Spain, Italy and Israel, and launched global sales at the next MIPCOM.
