MAF SCREENING AND SOCIAL TOMORROW

JOIN US TOMORROW!
If you’ve been to our Festival it’s no secret that we LOVE animation. So for 2022 we’ve decided to spread the love throughout the year and put on monthly events!
Join us for the first event tomorrow for MAF Presents: The Love Me… They Love Me Not! a screening of short films celebrating love, lust and indifference! You don’t have to be head over heels to enjoy the evening so feel free to bring a date or bring your mates as we launch our year round programme. We will also be hosting a live version of ‘What’s the Buzz’ so you can keep up to date with what is happening and who is hiring in the Manchester area. This event will take place at Chapeltown Picture House, which is part of the award winning street food venue GRUB.
MAF 2021 limited edition pin designed by the immensely talented Matthew Lee. The pin features our very own mad scientist and MAF bee from this year’s ident, immortalised in enamel form.
The 2020 limited edition badges were designed by Hammo, and 2019 design by Frida Ramirez. We only have a few of these older editions left in stock, so make sure you get yours before they’re gone forever!

WHAT’S THE BUZZ?
Our regular roundup of animation related happenings in the animation community in the run up to the festival. Here is an event that might interest the animation aficionados amongst you.
This time, we’ll introduce FLEE (15)
Winner of our Feature Film Award for 2021 FLEE is now available to see on the big screen once more at HOME, so if you missed the film as part of MAF, or if you want to see it again, now is the perfect chance.

FLEE tells an unforgettable story of Amin, a high achieving academic who is struggling to come to terms with his past as a child refugee from Afghanistan. A remarkable tale of self-discovery. Showing how only by confronting the past is it possible to carve out a future, and the universal truth that only when you stop fleeing from who you are can you find the true meaning of home.
