Former Corus exec joins Toon Boom as CEO

Colin Bohm is taking the reins of the company’s global software business and will oversee new product launches planned for next year.
Montreal-based software developer Toon Boom Animation has named former Corus Entertainment exec Colin Bohm as its new CEO.
Bohm’s appointment comes in the wake of New York-based investment firm IMG purchasing the software developer from Corus for US$112.4 million in July.
Bohm steps into his new role in January, with a remit to oversee Toon Boom’s operations and develop its global strategy. In the short term, he’ll focus on expanding sales of the company’s subscription-based software in new markets and managing several product launches planned for 2024.
Since it opened its doors in 1994, Toon Boom’s products have been licensed to clients in more than 150 countries, including Disney Television Animation, Bento Box, Toei Animation and Xilam Animation.
Corus eliminated Bohm’s EVP of content and corporate strategy role in October. He had worked at the Canadian mediaco for 20 years, overseeing businesses such as Nelvana, Kids Can Press and Toon Boom during his tenure.
