Berlin23: Octavia Spencer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lucy Liu/ The Exchange

Nat McCormick, The Exchange Worldwide Sales and Distribution President, announced today that Academy Award winning actress Octavia Spencer (HIDDEN FIGURES, THE SHAPE OF WATER), Emmy Award winning actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt (INCEPTION) and Emmy Award Nominee Lucy Liu (SHAZAM: FURY OF THE GODS, RED ONE) are attached to lead the feature film NOBODY NOTHING NOWHERE.

A 2018 Blacklist and Sundance Screenwriter Labs original screenplay written and to be directed by Rachel Wolther and Alex H. Fischer, NOBODY NOTHING NOWHERE is being produced by veteran producers Josh Penn and Michael Gottwald of the Department of Motion Pictures, Allison Rose Carter, Octavia Spencer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lucy Liu.

Christina Campagnola under a banner to be announced, Brian Clisham and Stephanie Kluft of Orit Entertainment, Brian O’Shea, Nat McCormick and Caddy Vanasirikul of The Exchange and Blair Ward and Anders Erden of Orogen Entertainment are serving as executive producers.

Fischer’s previous work includes Sundance 2020’s SAVE YOURSELVES!; Penn and Gottwald produced critically acclaimed and four time Academy Award nominated BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD and their banner produced 2017 Sundance and Cannes Director’s Fortnight PATTI CAKE$; and Carter’s producing credits include award-winning features AMERICAN HONEY, ZOLA and EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE .

Filming is scheduled for Summer 2023.

The Exchange will be introducing the title to international buyers at the upcoming 2023 European Film Market in Berlin, CAA Film Finance and WME Independent are handling domestic.

NOBODY NOTHING NOWHERE is the story of Ruth, one of the Non-People, human-looking beings designed and trained for the sole purpose of filling in a realistic world for a bland guy named Dave, the only person that actually exists on Earth. Tired of serving as an extra in someone else’s life, Ruth is ready to demand a life of her own.
