Mentoring Program for Latin American Women Animation Directors
With the aim of implementing actions in favor of gender parity to help build a more equitable and diverse animation industry, it announced the third edition of the Special Mentoring Program for Latin American Women Creators. The initiative, whose objective is to propose actions aimed at gender equity in the animation industry, is developed with the support of the Institut Français d’Argentine and the MIFA Market of the Annecy International Festival, and the Quirino Awards for Ibero-American Animation as a strategic ally.
A jury composed of prominent members of the international industry selected five finalist projects that will have access to training given by specialists focused on production, script and pitching. This program will take place in early 2023 and will be conducted virtually. After completing the mentoring and thanks to the support of the Annecy International Animation Festival and its marketplace MIFA, one of the projects will be chosen to be presented at MIFA 2023.
After 2 editions with 10 projects selected in total, the experience proved to be positive and enriching for both the creators and the mentors. The projects selected in 2021 made their Pitch at Animation! 2022, after a year’s journey.
