Buyers including Netflix, Disney and WarnerMedia have picked up animated series Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese, produced by partners in France, the US and Ireland.
US prodco Cloudco Entertainment’s show is coproduced with partners Watchnext Media in France and Kavaleer Productions in Ireland.
The latest buyers for the 52×11’ first season are Netflix (for the UK, France and Canada), Disney (Benelux and CEE) and WarnerMedia kids’ channels and streaming services, including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, HBO Max and HBO Go for pan-Africa, Turkey, South-east Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The first season has also been acquired by MBC Group for its children’s edutainment channel MBC3 in the Middle East and commercial broadcaster SIC in Portugal.
In addition, a second season of 52×11’ is currently in production and is due to be delivered in June 2022, with SuperRTL in Germany and Wildbrain’s Family Channel in Canada early buyers.
The show is based on original IP from Cloudco and follows the traditional family sitcom format but with the ‘family’ comprising the six titular items.
Its commissioning broadcasters are the BBC (UK), RTÉ (Ireland) and De Agostini’s DeAKids (Italy), where it debuted in 2019, and Gulli (France), where it arrived in 2020.
“We are very excited to share our award-winning series with new audiences from around the world via our top-tier broadcast partners. In addition, we are pleased to see early pick up on season two, and we look forward to announcing additional deals in due time,” said Ian Lambur, exec VP of content strategy, coproductions and global distribution at Cloudco.
