The 20th ChinaJoy, themed “20 Years Together” will be held from July 28th to July 31st, 2023. ChinaJoy, the China International Digital Interactive Entertainment Exhibition, is a comprehensive international event in the digital entertainment industry jointly guided by the State Press and Publication Administration and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, organized by the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association and Shanghai Hanweixinheng Exhibition Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the Shanghai Press and Publication Bureau and the Pudong New Area People’s Government.
ChinaJoy covers various domains of digital entertainment, including games, animation, internet film and television, internet music, online literature, esports, trendy toys, smart entertainment software, and hardware. It presents a panoramic view of the flourishing development of the digital entertainment industry driven by new technologies and showcases the latest achievements in the global digital entertainment industry.
Nearly 500 domestic and foreign exhibitors have registered for this year’s event, representing 22 countries and regions. Among them are over 100 foreign companies from 19 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Belgium, Germany, Russia, France, South Korea, the Netherlands, Canada, the United States, Japan, Sweden, Uruguay, Singapore, Israel, India, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam, accounting for approximately 30% of the total exhibitors. The overall exhibition area has surpassed 120,000 square meters, with more than 200 exhibitors in the BTOC (Business to Consumer) area occupying over 100,000 square meters and nearly 300 exhibitors in the BTOB (Business to Business) area occupying close to 20,000 square meters. BTOB foreign companies comprise nearly a hundred, accounting for about 35%.
This year marks the year of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a plethora of AI applications and products emerging, including AIGC, ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc. ChinaJoy keeps up with industry and technological trends, promoting technological innovation. With the continuous development of AI technology, artificial intelligence will play an increasingly important role in the gaming industry, bringing forth more opportunities. In this year’s ChinaJoy, both in conferences and exhibitions, efforts are made to explore new AI territories and embrace the new era of artificial intelligence in the gaming industry.
Centered around the topic of the AI, this year’s China International Digital Entertainment Industry Conference (CDEC) will introduce the ChinaJoy AIGC conference, inviting both domestic and foreign experts, scholars, and business leaders to share the evolution and iteration of key technologies, reflect on the changes in content creation caused by technological upgrades, and delve deep into the opportunities and challenges brought about by AIGC in the industry chain. The China Game Developers Conference (CGDC), held later this year, will add an AI-themed session, inviting technical experts to discuss AI’s innovative breakthroughs in enhancing game development, efficiency, innovation capability, and optimizing player experiences.
The BTOB exhibition area of this year’s ChinaJoy will add a theme zone for digital technology innovation, covering products related to AI, 5G, Web3.0, Metaverse, digital humans, blockchain technology, and applications in the current global digital entertainment field, facilitating business exchanges and showcasing numerous cutting-edge AI products and technology applications in the gaming industry, demonstrating the infinite possibilities brought by the integration of artificial intelligence and the gaming industry.
