Housemarque Brings SAROS Insights to Nordic Game 2026

Housemarque, one of Nordic`s most acclaimed game development studios, is joining Nordic Game 2026. The developers will offer an in-depth look at the process behind creating their highly anticipated game SAROS, which is set to launch on PlayStation 5 on April 30.

In the session titled “Lessons from Carcosa: Art & Design Direction for SAROS”, the team will take a look at the collaboration between Art and Design in evolving Housemarque’s signature gameplay-first philosophy into its ultimate form.

The talk will feature three key voices from the project:

  • Mikael Haveri, Brand Director – with 13 years at Housemarque, guiding the studio’s journey from indie roots to AAA while keeping arcade spirit alive and relevant.
  • Mitja Roskaric, Associate Design Director – bringing 18 years of experience in level design from Remedy Entertainment, MachineGames, and IO Interactive, and most recently shaping SAROS at Housemarque.
  • Simone Silvestri, Art Director – leading the visual identity of the game.

Together, they’ll tell the story of how art and design came together to create the dark world of Carcosa and deliver a fresh take on the intense, cinematic action that Housemarque fans have fallen in love with.

With SAROS released less than a month before NG26 on 26-29 May, this session offers a rare and timely behind-the-scenes look at one of 2026’s most anticipated PlayStation titles. Expect honest reflections on creative collaboration, pushing gameplay systems, and building a mysterious sci-fi universe filled with bullet-hell intensity and roguelite elements.

Nordic Game encourages developers, publishers, investors, and creators to secure their spot at NG26 (26–29 May at Slagthuset in Malmö) ahead of the final price increase on 30 April. Passes are available now at nordicgame.com/registration.
