Bandai Namco Confirms Release Timing for Tales of Berseria Remastered

Bandai Namco recently announced via its Japanese official website that Tales of Berseria Remastered (known in Japan as The Scarlet Night Legend Remastered) will launch on February 26, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch, with the PC version set to release on February 27. This remastered edition will be based on the international version of the original game, with certain content adjustments made for global consistency. Pre-orders are now available on Steam, with the Standard Edition priced at 198 RMB and the Digital Deluxe Edition at 298 RMB in China.

According to the official announcement, Tales of Berseria Remastered will adopt the overseas version as the baseline for its global release. This means that certain scenes present in the original Japanese version will be aligned with the international edition. One notable example is a key violent scene involving a child character, which was modified in the international version to depict the character being struck down by a sword beam, rather than the original Japanese version’s depiction of the character being impaled and lifted into the air. This move is believed to streamline the global rating and distribution process, ensuring a consistent player experience across regions.

Originally released in 2016, Tales of Berseria returns with this remastered edition, retaining the original storyline and gameplay systems while introducing several quality-of-life improvements. These include destination markers, an option to disable random encounters in fields and dungeons, and early access to the “GRADE Shop,” allowing for smoother progression. The game also includes a wealth of original DLC content, such as character costumes and useful items.

The story of Tales of Berseria revolves around the theme of “Emotion vs. Reason,” following the protagonist Velvet on her journey of revenge. Set in a vast world, the narrative weaves together a deeply engaging plot with a cast of charismatic characters. The combat system allows players to customize skills and combo attacks freely. By seizing “Soul Gems” from enemies, players can break combo limits and experience strategic yet exhilarating battles.

Players who pre-order the game will receive the “Super Adventure Helper Set,” which includes various useful items. The Digital Deluxe Edition additionally includes a Battle BGM Pack, a Digital Artbook & Soundtrack, and the “Super Growth Boost! Red Herb Set.”

As a modern revival of Bandai Namco’s classic RPG, Tales of Berseria Remastered aims to deliver the authentic original experience while providing a more accessible and player-friendly adventure for today’s audience.
