78th Emmy Awards (Formerly Creative Arts Emmy Awards) Concludes, Honoring On-and-Behind-the-Camera Talents in Television

Hosted by the Television Academy, the twonight 78th Emmy Awards ceremonies (formerly known as the Creative Arts Emmy Awards) were held September 56, 2026, at Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE, Los Angeles. The events recognize outstanding artistic and technical achievements for behindthecamera crafts, variety, documentary, reality, comedy, drama and limitedanthology television programs.

This year marks the official integration of the former “Creative Arts Emmy Awards” into the overall 78th Emmys framework. Night One on September 5 centered on variety, reality and unscripted documentary categories. Night Two on September 6 honored scripted comedy, drama, limited/anthology series, animation and guestperformance awards. Several supporting acting categories previously presented in the main Primetime telecast were shifted to this year’s Creative Arts segment, with more than 100 Emmy statuettes awarded across the two nights. Headlining Night One was Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show starring Bad Bunny, sweeping seven Emmy trophies. Peacock reality competition series The Traitors earned six wins. The final season of CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert secured five honors. Mariska Hargitay took home two Emmys for her HBO documentary feature My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay, winning Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special and Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction ProgramTelevision…. Night Two Highlights (Sep.6｜Scripted Series, Guest Acting & Animation)

Scripted programming dominated Sunday’s ceremony. Apple TV+ series Widow’s Bay became Night Two’s biggest winner with eight Emmys. HBO limited series DTF St. Louis followed with six trophies.
