YouTube and National Geographic Co-Produced 3 VR Documentaries

National Geographic and YouTube are working on three VR projects, and the first project will debut on December 11. This VR series will add to the vast amount of VR content that YouTube already has. Jenna Pirog, National Geographic’s Senior Director of Video and Immersive Experience, said in a statement: “National Geography has been pushing the boundaries of visual narrative.” “We look forward to a long-term partnership with YouTube that will enable us to become an industry manager. Combine immersive technology with influential storytelling.”
The first project is a four-part series called The Okavango Experience, which will lead the audience to explore the Okavango Delta in Africa, where there are a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions and hundreds of species. birds. Each episode follows the National Geographic Society team and they will conduct a four-month, 1,500-mile expedition in the Delta. A team of scientists and explorers crossed three countries to try to understand how best to protect the rivers in the area.
Each episode is about five minutes. The first will be released on National Geographic’s YouTube channel, website and Google Daydream VR app on December 11. The remaining episodes will be aired on Tuesdays. National Geographic and YouTube will also launch two other VR series in 2019.
