VOLTAGE PICTURES APPOINTS MARIA EDUARDA RIBEIRO AS DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

Los Angeles, USA (November 9, 2019) Voltage Pictures has appointed Maria Eduarda Ribeiro as Director of Marketing with immediate effect, it was announced today by President and COO Jonathan Deckter. Ribeiro will oversee all marketing related matters, including reviewing and approving marketing materials created by company’s international distributors. She will also oversee creative and all aspects of marketing for Voltage Picture’s film slate.  She  will report to Voltage Picture’s President, Jonathan Deckter.

Ribeiro joins Voltage at a dynamic time for the company whose upcoming slate includes the action-drama Eve starring Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, John Malkovich and Geena Davis, After We Collided, the sequel of the highest grossing independent film of 2019, After and Robert Lorenz’ action-thriller The Minuteman starring Liam Neeson.

“Marketing has played an integral role in driving our biggest successes here at Voltage and we’re thrilled to have Maria leading that charge on our upcoming slate,” said Deckter. “She has a keen understanding of our partners’ needs and the international marketplace at large, making her the perfect addition to our team as we gear up for an exciting 2020.”

Before joining Voltage Pictures, Maria Eduarda Ribeiro spent five years serving as International Marketing Manager at Pure Flix / Quality Flix, from late 2014 until late 2019. In this role, she oversaw international marketing, international film festivals and publicity operations for the company’s original films, third party acquisitions, and television projects. In addition, she represented the company at all the major film markets, festivals, conventions, and other trade events.

New titles for Voltage at AFM include Seventh Day starring Guy Pearce, superhero epic Archenemy with Joe Manganiello and Fear of Rain starring Katherine Heigl and Harry Connick Jr.

Voltage has repped international rights on two of the highest performing independent films of the last two years; I Feel Pretty, starring Amy Schumer which grossed $100m worldwide and After, based on the best-selling book series from Anna Todd which has grossed nearly $70 million worldwide, making it the highest performing independent film of 2019 so far.

Other titles released by Voltage include Colossal starring Anne Hathaway released in April 2017 by Neon and A Family Man starring Gerard Butler, and Keep Watching, starring Bella Thorne which released by Screen Gems.

Voltage was a co-financier and sales agent for the acclaimed Wind River, from Taylor Sheridan in his directorial debut, starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, which premiered to rave reviews at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival which took over $44 million in worldwide box office. Chartier and Deckter were executive producers on the project.

Recent titles on the Voltage sales slate include the Toronto International Film Festival FIPRESCI Prize winner Skin from the Academy Award-winning director, Guy Nattiv, and starring Jamie Bell, Danielle Macdonald, and Vera Farmiga. The film was also an official selection in the Panorama section at the 2019 Berlin Film Festival and was released in the US by A24. The short on which the film is based won the 2019 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short. All Eyez on Me from director Benny Bloom and starring Demetrius Shipp Jr., Danai Gurira and Kat Graham took $53 million in worldwide box office. Her Smell, starring Elisabeth Moss, Amber Heard, Cara Delevingne, and Dan Stevens was released in April 2019.

Voltage executive produced and are handling international sales on Robert Lorenz’ highly anticipated action-thriller The Minuteman starring Liam Neeson, which is currently in post-production.
