VENTANA SUR CELEBRATES ITS 15TH ANNIVERSARY AND HAS ALREADY SET THE DATE FOR ITS NEXT EDITION

The National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the Marché du Film of the Cannes Film Festival announce the new edition of Ventana Sur. The most important audiovisual market in Ibero-America, celebrating its 15 years of uninterrupted existence, will be held from November 27 to December 1, 2023, in the city of Buenos Aires.

As in previous years, this great event that brings together the entire audiovisual ecosystem of the region will offer meeting spaces, screenings, conferences and talks of interest to those involved in the film industry, series, video games and other formats. All this with the aim of generating ties that enable new productions, strengthen co-productions with Latin American countries and expand the possibilities of distribution and exhibition.

Among the most important sections that will continue this year are the traditional Primer Corte, which every year promotes Latin American fiction feature films in the post-production stage, and Copia Final, opening distribution windows to the whole world for advanced or finished projects.

Like every year, Blood Window will provide a unique business platform for filmmakers specialized in Horror & Genre-films from Latin America; and Animation! will offer an exclusive space with great prestige in the market for animation professionals.

For the sixth consecutive year, the market will also present Proyecta, an initiative of the INCAA, the Marché du Film and the San Sebastian International Film Festival to foster links between Latin America and Europe.

The SoloSerieS section will bring together Latin American series and microseries projects, along with global content platforms. El Principio del Film, organized together with the Argentinean Author’s Association (ARGENTORES) and the Authors’ Union (SADA), will present a selection of unpublished fiction scripts from prestigious writing programs in Latin America.

Punto Género will promote feature films in development by female and/or non-binary gender filmmakers from Latin America.

There will also be space for documentary films from the region. The DocSur section will bring together projects and filmmakers of the genre.

The proposal will be completed with Maquinitas, because stories, in order to be told, must also be stories to be played. The section summons representatives of the Ibero-American video game industry.

The first calls for submissions will be opened in July. Follow us on the social networks for more information and updates.

Ventana Sur is the most important market in Latin America that every year gathers more than three thousand buyers and sellers of audiovisual content from around the world. It was recently recognized with the Pepe Escriche Award at the opening of the 51st edition of the Huesca International Film Festival, Spain, for its management work in the promotion of Latin American productions, consolidated as the major reference of the Ibero-American audiovisual ecosystem.
