The Animated Film “The Breadwinner” will be Released on Jan. 11th in Mainland China

Once nominated for the 90th Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film and winning the Annie Awards, the movie The Breadwinner will be officially released on January 11, 2019. The film was supervised by Angelina Jolie, produced by Cartoon Saloon and directed by Nora Twomey. Adapted from the global best-selling novel by the Canadian writer Deborah Ellis, it tells the story of the Afghan girl Parvana, who struggles with her destiny to support her family.

The film was lost to Coco in competing the 90th Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. However, its fine style and tenacious spirit won unanimous praise from global audiences, reflected from its 94% freshness on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.2’s scoring on douban. It won the 45th Annie Award for Best Animated Film, which it truly deserves.
