Talpa Studios and Hasbro Entertainment showcased Trivial Pursuit at MIPCOM 2024

Talpa Studios and Hasbro Entertainment are highlighting the Trivial Pursuitformat at MIPCOM for global buyers. Talpa Studios has joined forces with Hasbro Entertainment, the entertainment company that leverages Hasbro’s leading collection of iconic brands to develop and produce premium film, television, animation, and digital content for audiences of all ages, to reimagine the beloved trivia game Trivial Pursuit into a question-packed entertainment format hosted by Emmy® Award-winning actor, director, producer, and podcaster LeVar Burton (“Roots,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Reading Rainbow”). The show premiered on The CW Network on October 3rd.
Fast-paced, strategic, and filled with trivia challenges, Trivial Pursuit brings the excitement of the iconic board game to television screens. Three contestants battle it out on a giant version of the iconic Trivial Pursuit game board and its distinctly colored category wedges. Their goal is simple: answer play-along questions from each category, win wedges, and get to the center of the board to take on a dramatic finale against the clock to claim the jackpot.
Maarten Meijs, CEO of Talpa Studios, highlights the significance of the collaboration: “We love game shows, and Hasbro Entertainment is a pioneer in this domain. This partnership allows us to bring one of the most iconic board games of all time to life as a television format. The promising premiere demonstrates the strength of this show, and we look forward to expanding its reach internationally.”
Gabriel Marano, Head of Hasbro Entertainment Television, said, “We could not be prouder of the Trivial Pursuit format, which is already delighting fans of all ages tuning in to watch on The CW. We are excited to partner with Talpa Studios to bring this fun and entertaining game show based on Hasbro’s iconic board game to audiences around the globe.”
