New York Film Festival Premiere VR movie, Audience Experiencing Escaping Fire

In the past few years, the festival has gradually embraced immersive and interactive storytelling methods such as VR and panoramic video. In addition, the famous New York Film Festival will announce its first VR cinema experience for the first time by demonstrating the interactive VR thriller “Fire Escape.”

“Fire Escape” draws inspiration from the work of suspense thriller master Hitchcock, creating a VR experience that allows viewers to experience fire escapes while selecting neighbors for espionage until an accident occurs.

The movie VR experience is created to increase the behavior and interactive elements of watching movies. Before the case occurs, players can escape from the fire and see the Brooklyn apartment building, texting friends or listening to the conversation. From the beginning of the case, the player’s choices become more and more important as they are involved in a dangerous criminal network.

Thirty New York Arts Festival participants will be able to wear the Lenovo Mirage heads to experience using the Mirage handles. After screening, the Q&A session and group discussion with the creator will be provided.

“Fire Escape” was created by iNK Stories, who recently won the Tribeca Film Festival’s best immersion award for Storyscape and is known for his 1979 Revolution: Black Friday and HERO.

The New York Film Festival will be held from September 28th to October 14th. “Fire Escape” will be screened from October 11th to 13th
