Mentoring Program for Latin American Women Animation Directors
With the aim of implementing actions in favor of gender parity to help build a more equitable and diverse animation industry, we announce the second edition of the Special Mentoring Program for Latin American Women Creators with the support of the Institut Français d’Argentine. New this year is the addition of the Quirino Awards for Ibero-American Animation as a key ally, with the aim of deepening collaborations and opportunities in the region.
A jury made up of prominent members of the international industry selected five finalist projects that will have access to training given by specialists focused on production, script and pitching. This program will take place in early 2022 and will be conducted virtually. After completing the mentoring and thanks to the support of the Annecy International Animation Festival and its MIFA market, one of the projects will be chosen to present at MIFA 2022.
The experience of the first edition yielded positive and enriching results. The program was presented as a success story during the Women’s Summit organized by Women in Animation at Annecy 2021. The projects selected last year are making their Pitch at Animation! 2021, after a year’s journey.
