MANCHESTER ANIMATION FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES NOW OPEN!

BIG NEWS! MAF(Manchester Animation Festival) is delighted to announce that our call for entries for our film competition and our industry excellence awards are now open until the 28 July 2023. You can enter our film awards via Film Freeway and the Industry Excellence Awards via the festival website.

Manchester Animation Festival is the UK’s largest Animation Festival dedicated celebration of the animated art form.

Hosted at HOME in Manchester, the festival brings one of the UK’s biggest animation hubs together and invites the international community to join us to delight in all things animated; working with organisations such as Netflix, Disney, Apple, Sky, Aardman, Cartoon Saloon, Blue Zoo, Nickelodeon, the BBC and many more on special events and screenings.

Animation is everywhere, from the smallest smart phone screen to the largest cinematic projection. Manchester Animation Festival unites artists, practitioners, students and enthusiasts and all those in between to savour the many and varied achievements of the animated form.

You can submit for Short Films, Immersive Films, Student Films and Commissioned Films. This year, as with every year our competition film winners will be awarded with handsome trophies crafted by the amazing Mackinnon and Saunders based here in Greater Manchester.

Also open for entries are our Industry Excellence Awards which celebrate the people behind the scenes who work on TV series, Music Videos, Advertisements and any other commercial or commissioned work.

If you are, or have worked with a Writer, Storyboard Artist, Character Designer or Animator you can nominate them or yourself by entering a sample of work on a specific project to the awards for free so we can celebrate the people who power the animation industry!

The final deadline for entries is the 28 July 2023. Please check the T&C’s before entering
