INSTALLED ON DARK SLOPE STUDIOS’ 3000 SQ FT MOTION CAPTURE STAGE

TORONTO – AUG 17, 2020 – Dark Slope Studios, the Toronto based state of the art motion capture and animation virtual production studio, today announces the launch of “Flex RDS,” the company’s new remote directing platform and service.

Installed on Dark Slope Studio’s 3000sq ft motion capture stage, the suite of tools enables directors, art directors, choreographers and producers a comprehensive remote view and uninterrupted communication with the on site team from a distance. In a time of social distancing, Flex RDS  provides directors with the flexibility to remotely select camera angles and watch retargeted mocap data applied to animation models in real time expediting the production process.

Flex RDS provides users with switcher style access to toggle between camera angles. The integration with Motive and the Unreal Engine allows for the director to review real time data capture. Further, the integration of this data in to the Unreal Engine allows for previsualization of the retargeted animation. Producers and directors are equipped to safely provide real time direction to performers, make creative decisions about blocking, test visual effects and lighting treatments in real time and from a distance.
