“Hunt the Night” to Launch Physical Editions for PS5 and Switch, Retro Dark Action RPG Arrives in 2026

Publisher SelectaPlay announced a new physical publishing partnership with indie developer Moonlight Games and digital publisher DANGEN Entertainment, bringing a physical edition of the dark action role-playing game “Hunt the Night” to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch later in 2026. The digital console versions will launch on February 26 and are now available to add to wishlists.

“Hunt the Night” is a dark fantasy action RPG inspired by retro aesthetics, centered around fast-paced, skill-driven combat paired with haunting pixel art, constructing a desperate world trapped in an endless cycle of destruction. Players take on the role of Vesper, a “Stalker” sworn to hold back the “Night,” as she journeys across the fallen land of Medhram in a desperate fight to preserve what remains of humanity.

Throughout the game, players will slash through nightmare overworlds, descend into deadly dungeons, and confront towering bosses that demand precision, adaptability, and mastery. The fluid and aggressive combat system allows players to seamlessly weave melee strikes, ranged attacks, dashes, and dark powers into relentless combos. Each encounter forces players to read enemy patterns, exploit weaknesses, and survive through escalating battle phases.

Deep Customization System, Rich World to Explore

Vesper’s abilities can be deeply customized to suit different playstyles and challenges. Players can forge their own combat approach through weapons, upgrade modules, and multiple attributes such as critical damage, lifesteal, poison, and firepower. Exploration rewards those willing to take risks—Medhram’s ancient cathedrals, ruined libraries, lost kingdoms, and floating cities all harbor secrets. Additionally, optional “Hunt” tasks require players to track and defeat the Night’s most fearsome creatures in exchange for powerful rewards.
