Creative Hungary

In August 2026, Creative Hungary, Hungary’s national official institution for the development of creative industries, led domestic Hungarian game enterprises to make their debut at the B2B business zone of gamescom, the world’s premier global gaming exhibition in Cologne, Germany. For the first time in Hungary’s gaming industry history, local game studios participated in the international exhibition with a unified joint booth under the umbrella brand of Budapest Select, showcasing their latest independent research and development projects and digital creative achievements to global industry professionals.

Founded in 2018 and formerly known as the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, Creative Hungary underwent a major functional upgrade and business expansion in 2025. In response to the integrated development trend of global creative industries, the institution expanded its support scope from traditional fashion and design sectors to the booming digital gaming and beauty creative industries, covering the core tracks of Hungary’s creative economy. Committed to integrating domestic creative resources, Creative Hungary provides systematic and targeted support for small and medium-sized enterprises and creative teams in design, fashion, gaming and digital innovation. It dedicates to enhancing the international competitiveness of local creative enterprises, accelerating their overseas market expansion, and strengthening Hungary’s cultural and economic influence in the global creative industry landscape.

Creative Hungary has long launched a series of industrial incubation programs and international promotion initiatives to empower the sound development of Hungary’s creative industries. The institution has repeatedly organized local design brands to attend world-renowned exhibitions including Milan Design Week, presenting outstanding Hungarian creative works to global audiences and gaining extensive industry attention, media coverage and commercial cooperation opportunities. In addition, it regularly launches professional training and incubation projects. The successfully concluded 5th Manufacturer Mentorship Program provided three months of professional guidance, technical training and resource docking for enterprises in design, beauty and gaming sectors, effectively promoting the standardized and professional upgrading of local creative enterprises and consolidating the foundation of the domestic creative industry.

The collective participation in gamescom 2026 marks a milestone for Hungary’s domestic gaming industry. Outstanding Hungarian game studios including Berries Stúdios, Kaos Lab, NovaSphera Studio and ZU Digital gathered at the exhibition under the unified Budapest Select brand to display their cutting-edge R&D achievements. Leveraging the professional B2B platform of gamescom, these local studios have established direct connections with global game publishers, investment institutions and industrial partners, greatly facilitating overseas business expansion and international cooperation layout.

This overseas exhibition debut fully demonstrates the innovative vitality and professional R&D strength of Hungary’s digital gaming industry, significantly improving the international visibility and industrial influence of Hungary’s gaming sector. It also highlights Hungary’s superior business environment and comprehensive support system for creative industries, attracting global industrial capital and cooperative resources. Moving forward, Creative Hungary will continue to focus on core creative sectors including digital gaming, design and fashion. It will keep organizing local creative enterprises to participate in top international exhibitions, build long-term international communication and cooperation platforms, and drive the high-quality, large-scale and global development of Hungary’s creative industries.
