The annual New York Comic Con (hereinafter referred to as “NYCC”) will be held in New York from October 4th to 7th. This year, bilibili will attend the conference with plenty of domestic productions for the first time, bringing “Chinese style” to overseas anime fans.
According to reports, bilibili will display “Incarnation”, “TO BE HEROINE”, “Flavors of Youth”, “Youth Songs”, “Please Eat Red Beans” and many other domestic animation works with distinctive characteristics on the spot. Besides, it will broadcast a high-quality creation content of UP masters and a fragment from the documentary “Those of History” on the main screen of the booth.
As one of the important cultures of the bilibili community, barrages will also be presented on the booth. According to the introduction of bilibili, the visitors can copy the barrages on the special wish signs and hang it on the “wishing tree”. The booth of bilibili will feature the Chinese style and adopt a blue-and-white setting of ancient Chinese garden style.
First held in 2006, NYCC is not only the largest comic exhibition in North America, but also one of the largest and most influential exhibitions worldwide. In 2016, NYCC attracted more than 180,000 participants. In addition to presenting the American comics, NYCC will also present the latest advancements in animation, games, movies and other fields, and many Hollywood production and distribution companies also regard it as an important platform for promotion and interaction.

bilibili said that the exhibition was to showcase the high-quality domestic content and culture of UP masters to overseas anime fans. Previously, bilibili had traveled overseas to participate in such well-known comic exhibitions as Japan’s “Anime Japan” and “Comic Market” as well as Singapore’s “Chara Expo”.
On March 23 this year, bilibili officially launched “Domestic Zone” where there are currently sections like Domestic Animation, Domestic Original Related, and Puppet Show. According to the latest data of domestic animation collection exposed by bilibili, among the episodes updated between April 1 and June 30 in 2018, each of the top three animation episodes has a playing times of over 3 million.
At present, China’s animation industry is rapidly emerging. According to “2017 White Paper of Chinese Online Animation Market ” released by entgroup.cn, the total output value of China’s animation industry reached 150 billion yuan in 2017, accounting for 24% of the total output value of the cultural & entertainment industry. The animation industry continued to develop at an increasingly fast rate and will enter a concentrated outbreak period.
