Tickets for China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) 2026 Now Available!

Following a successful appearance at the recently concluded 26th Asia Television Forum & Market (ATF) in late 2025, the China International Cartoon & Animation Festival (CICAF) has officially entered an accelerated phase of its global strategy. The Hangzhou delegation, part of the “Animation Global Journey” initiative, participated in the event organized by the National Radio and Television Administration, engaging in in-depth dialogues with industry elites from over 60 countries and regions and securing multiple international cooperation agreements.

The Asia Television Forum & Market (ATF) stands as Asia’s largest and most influential entertainment content market. This year’s edition brought together approximately 5,000 professionals from the production, distribution, and investment sectors worldwide, serving as a central hub for observing industry trends and forging partnerships. CICAF, China’s first and only state-level, international animation festival, made its mark at ATF as part of the “China United Pavilion,” organized by the National Radio and Television Administration in collaboration with institutions like Zhejiang Huace Film & TV Co., Ltd. This participation highlights its commitment to promoting Chinese culture globally and establishing a premier international cultural exchange platform.

Enhancing Brand Promotion, Connecting Global Resources
During the exhibition, the Hangzhou delegation systematically introduced CICAF and its core business event, the International Animation & Game Business Conference (iABC), to companies, institutions, and studios from nearly ten countries, including Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Hungary. Representatives held productive meetings with major Indonesian streaming group PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk, renowned production and distribution company Luminescence, and film production company KSTYLES, effectively promoting Hangzhou’s brand image as a leading hub of China’s animation industry and its vast cooperation opportunities.

Reaching Strategic Consensus, Expanding the Cooperation Network
The visit yielded fruitful results, with a series of international cooperation intentions laying a solid foundation for CICAF’s internationalization in 2026:

Establishing Specialized Cooperation with the Russian Content Market: An agreement was reached with Elena, Chairperson of the World Content Market, to organize a special “Animation & Drama” event during their exhibition. Chairperson Elena also confirmed plans to actively encourage Russian companies to participate in CICAF’s “Golden Monkey King Awards” competition and iABC business activities in 2026.

Strengthening Key Partnerships in East Asia: During a meeting with the President of the Korea Creative Content Agency, it was confirmed that Korean companies will continue to participate in CICAF 2026, deepening the long-term cooperative relationship.

Exploring Venue and Hosting Collaborations: Constructive discussions were held with Ms. Chen Wenjun, Business Manager of the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, exploring future possibilities for event hosting and resource sharing. This opens channels for CICAF’s long-term strategic layout in Southeast Asia.

Looking Ahead to 2026: An Invitation to Hangzhou
With the signing of several international cooperation memoranda and agreements, CICAF’s global network has significantly expanded. The next edition of the festival is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 2, 2026, at the Hangzhou White Horse Lake International Exhibition Centre, and is expected to welcome broader international participation. This successful participation at ATF represents not only a strategic brand expansion overseas but also a precise integration of global resources. It signals that China’s animation industry is embracing a more open and professional approach, integrating deeply into the global content ecosystem and injecting new vitality into worldwide animation cultural exchange and collaboration.
