64 Films from 32 Countries Vying in International Competition of 39th TISFF

Sixty-four shorts by filmmakers from 32 countries in the world are set to compete in the international category of the 39th Tehran International Short Film Festival, vying for the festival’s statue, the 2000-dollar Grand Prix granted by this cinematic event.

Tehran International Short Film Festival is a preliminary event to the Academy Awards, an Oscar-qualified festival, the 39th round of which is set to screen 64 shorts including fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental films from 32 countries such as the US, France, Chile, Argentina, Japan, Germany, Austria, China, England, Italy, Poland, Lebanon, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, India, Spain, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark, Thailand, Croatia, Hungary, the Philippines, Lithuania, Romania, Pakistan, Morocco, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Luxemburg, Iraq, Turkey, and Iran. Presided over by CEO of Iranian Youth Cinema Society Mehdi Azarpendar, the festival is slated to be held with in-person attendance, screening 64 films from 32 countries as well as 99 domestic films, from October 19-24, 2022, in Mellat Cinema Complex of Tehran.
