ZED TAKES DUO OF ROYAL DOCS WORLDWIDE AND SIGNS MULTIPLE DEALS

Paris-based indie distributor ZED has closed several sales deals for two documentaries on royal families, with broadcasters across the globe.

QUEEN’S ELIZABETH’S LAST BATTLES, produced by Elephant and Chrysalide Productions for France Télévisions Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah has shaken Buckingham Palace and unleashed passion across the world. But beyond these bombshell revelations, the British monarchy has spent the last few years dealing with a string of obstacles.

Between the Brexit earthquake, the hospitalization of Prince Philip, Harry and Meghan renouncing royal duties, and the sexual accusations against her son, Andrew, the Queen has recently faced many painful challenges. Directed by history-specialized talented filmmaker Pierre Hurel, this 1×52’ examines what these events reveal about the monarchy, and provides insight into the reign of Queen Elizabeth II by charting the key milestones of her recent years.

Based on recent archive material, interviews of those who know the Royal Family best (Olivia Colman, Dickie Arbiter, Robert Lacey, Tony Blair…), this stand alone has aroused the interest of many broadcasters, and ZED has already inked a slate of global deals, including, TELEFONICA/CANAL+ ESPANA, RSI, RTBF, RTS, RTVE, SOCIETE RADIO CANADA, SVT, LTV –

Latvian Television and UNITED MEDIA GROUP.

HER NAME WAS GRACE KELLY, produced by Patrick Spica Productions for France Télévisions On its Spring’s line-up, ZED also showcases HER NAME GRACE KELLY, a 1×52’ unprecedented portrait of the movie star-turned-Princess of Monaco.

Thanks to an exclusive access to private archives – some of which colorized and never been seen in public – which are commented on by members of her family, including Prince Albert of Monaco, this film reveals Grace Kelly as we have never seen her before, and lifts the lid on an intimate family saga quite different to the official image of the Princess of Monaco.
