Winsings’ ‘Diary of Dinosaurs’ earns $10 million in 10 days  

Winsing Animation’s Diary of Dinosaurs records a box office collection of $10 million in just 10 days of its initial release.

This animated feature hit the theatres on 1 May during the Labour Day holiday, played on over 10,000 screens with 44 million admissions and 2.3 million screenings across China.

The film will also premiere in South Korea, Malaysia, and other countries within this year, with deals in more countries and regions under negotiation.

Diary of Dinosaurs is the seventh feature film created by Chinese studio Winsing, creators of the hit franchises GOGOBUS and GG Bond.

The film is expected to run for another three weeks, all the way through to the International Children’s Day in China.

This 90-min feature film is based on the genre of comedy, adventure, and action. It revolves around a family of herbivorous dinosaurs who try to defend their homeland.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Woody, a star agent internship, is traveling from the future to find his senior partner. In such a strange world, he meets Yaya and gets her guidance and help. During this journey, Woody finds that Yaya is the endangered species of dinosaurs. Meanwhile, Yaya and other herbivorous dinosaurs are suffering from the invasion of the carnivorous dinosaurs. Fear only leads to Yaya and her fellows keep running away from their endless harass. However, Yaya is greatly influenced by Woody’s braveness and finally overcomes her inborn fear and makes a decision – firmly stands her ground just like her father when the carnivorous’ invade next time…

As per Animation Magazine, Winsing Animation general manager of film business department Hanson Hwang said, “We paid lots of attention to creating, developing, producing, polishing and promoting the contents, and we are glad to see that Diary of Dinosaurs broke the box office records of Winsing’s feature series, we will continue to give play to the imagination, improve the stories through creativity and technology, and make better-animated features in the future.”

So far Winsing Animation has released six feature films in theaters and new media platforms worldwide, gaining a box office total of around $32 million.
