ViacomCBS & SuperRTL Expand Licensing Deal in GSA

ViacomCBS-Nickelodeon-Paw Patrol
Super RTL and ViacomCBS Consumer Products are expanding their licensing agreement to include Nickelodeon’s properties SpongeBob SquarePants, Blaze and the Monster Machines, and The Loud House in the Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (GSA) region.
These properties will join a portfolio of other properties that Super RTL licenses on behalf of ViacomCBS Consumer Products, which currently includes PAW Patrol.
“The cooperation between Super RTL, Nickelodeon, and ViacomCBS Consumer Products has already made PAW Patrol the most successful preschool property in our market,” said Hendrik Rinsche, Head of Merchandising & Licensing at Super RTL. “This expansion is once again creating new opportunities for the entire market. With the support of our industry and retail partners, the full potential of the three franchises will be unleashed in our markets.”
“We are very excited to strengthen our partnership with Super RTL and our licensing business in the region,” said Felix Ruoff, VP Consumer Products Northern & Eastern Europe, ViacomCBS Consumer Products. “Combining Super RTL’s expertise and scale with our iconic brands, this broader partnership will enable us to explore new business areas to truly maximise the value of our brands.”
As part of the new agreement, the animated formats SpongeBob SquarePants, Blaze and the Monster Machines, and The Loud House will also be added to Super RTL’s future TV lineup in the market. Nickelodeon will remain the home station for SpongeBob and Patrick’s adventures in Bikini Bottom and exclusive free-TV premieres of all three formats will continue to be broadcast on Nickelodeon in the region.
