‘Vehicle Routing Technology during COVID Times’ Awarded First Prize at InApp Tech Day

At the 14th edition of InApp’s Tech Day, organized by the TMO (Technology Management Office) on June 27, 2020, ‘Vehicle Routing Technology during COVID Times’ by Haribabu Karpaka Vellaya was adjudged the best session. In spite of being conducted virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event saw enthusiastic participants from a large audience, who witnessed the presentations on an array of innovative and interesting topics such as AI, Machine Learning, Automation etc. The major highlight of the day was the lively and deeply engaging technical debate on the relevant topic of our times “Data Protection law (GDPR) is vital for our society”, moderated by InApp Chief Technical Officer, Anil GS. Further emphasizing on the importance placed on the Cyberseurity by InApp in the current pandemic, our President Satish Babu gave another well received and valuable talk on ‘Recent Development in Cybersecurity’, where he elaborated on the latest trends with their applications in the area of cybersecurity. Preceded by a two week-long preliminary round of sessions to select finalists for talk sessions for the main event, the day also saw an entertaining and informative quiz contest. At the end Chief Executive Officer Vijay Kumar gave a felicitation speech and honored the talk session, webinar quiz, and Tzone blog contest winners.

InApp Executive Chairman Nominated as IEEE A&A Chair

Amarnath Raja, our Executive Chairman has been nominated as the 2021 Chair of the IEEE Admissions and Advancements committee. He has been a volunteer for IEEE for long and has served as the Kerala Section Chair, Humanitarian activities Chair and in many other positions. He had been honoured with one of the IEEE’s highest volunteer awards – the Larry K Wilson, Transnational award in 2015. We wish him all the best.

 

Student Project on ‘Facial Expression Synthesis’ Wins CSI-InApp National Award

In a well-attended virtual Award Ceremony on July 4, 2020, ‘Facial Expression Synthesis Using Voice Tone Analysis’ was declared the winner of the 9th CSI-InApp National Student Project Award, by our Chief Guest Dr. Rajasree M S, Vice Chancellor, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The ceremony was preceded by an insightful panel discussion on ‘Reimagining Education from First Principles”. The winner project had impressed the judges immensely during the final evaluation round, also held virtual, for its originality and applicability. The team was led by Viren Pasalkar, Chatrali Talekar, Sujal Chowdhary, Rohan Hirekerur from PES Modern College of Engineering, Pune Maharashtra.

The consolation prize was awarded to the project ‘Natural Language Interface to Database with Data Retrieval’ represented by Jacob James K, Gayathri Krishna, Kuttymalu VK, and Praveen G Anand from Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Trivandrum, Kerala. The project ‘AI-Birdie’ received the Special Jury Award and its team of Arnav Bhavsar, Jaimi Sheta, Jay Sonani, Neha Dadarwala, Nirali Nanavati, Smit Jivani, Vishal Jobanputra belonged to Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology, Surat, Gujarat.

The National Student Project Awards contest was organized fully virtual for the first time due to the pandemic with 100 different zoom meetings among the judging panel and project team members spread across over 300 different places. This year the project mix was more exciting and covered innovative projects and the latest trends in AI, Blockchain, IoT, Supply Chain Management and AR/VR.

The Award was instituted jointly by the Computer Society of India (CSI), Trivandrum Chapter, and InApp in 2012 to inculcate real world learning through a non-traditional education model called Project Based Learning (PBL) and to identify and recognize the best software projects designed and implemented by engineering students.

InApp is excited to begin work on a custom Learning Management System (LMS) focused exclusively to help physicians. The project is for a NASDAQ-100 company in the business of producing medical appliances and equipment. The company based in California is a global technology leader in robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgery. The LMS will help surgeons develop the knowledge and skills required for using the client’s products safely and efficiently.

Enhancing a Platform for Alternative Investments

Enhancing a Platform for Alternative Investments Our client in the alternative investment industry has extended the contract for enhancing their Big Data product for alternative and mutual fund investments. The client, a major growth financial technology company in the USA has built this comprehensive platform comprising data, research, and analytical products and services to provide data intelligence for better business decisions. InApp has been working with the client in enhancing the product since 2016.

Developing Self Service Web Application

Our longstanding USA based client provides self-service web application that enables digital teams to connect first-party behavioral and enterprise data, build and deploy their customized models, run in a private cloud, and activate across channels. Along with developing new features in User Interface (UI), InApp is also involved in the challenging task of testing and quality control of the AI application. The client has extended the project contract further.

Enhancing a Data Product for Commercial Real Estate

The scope of the project is to enhance the features of our Chicago based client’s Index Production Application (IPA), which is a comprehensive data product developed for commercial real estate in the USA. The client provides improved commercial real estate data, performance measurement, investment analysis, information standards, education, and peer group interaction.

Client Extends Contract for Application Maintenance Services

The client, based in Atlanta, Georgia is a global leader in managed services for law firms. They provide legal process outsourcing to professionals and to over 300 firms around the world. The scope of the project is to provide level 3 support for application maintenance and infrastructure management. InApp has been working with the client for several years and was responsible for enhancing their core product, a full-service ticketing system designed to serve legal IT needs.

Application Support for an eCommerce App

Our Dubai based client manufactures perfumes and fragrances and also designs perfume bottles, moulds, and bottle caps. InApp had developed an iOS and Android eCommerce app for the client to augment the perfume procurement experience for their customers. The e-commerce app allows buyers to visually decide on every aspect of their target product before purchasing. We have now signed an agreement with them to provide application maintenance and support for this eCom solution.

In our second podcast, Executive Chairman, Amarnath Raja speaks on ‘Different Aspects of Face Recognition Projects’ and the available tools for the successful implementation of projects and the challenges in the development of the systems. On the related data protection and ethical issues, he states that whenever we push the frontiers of science, we come across privacy and ethical issues and only science is the answer to the issues that science creates. During the talk, he appears very confident about the safe applicability of the ‘Face Recognition Systems’.
