The pre-sale tickets of “The Little Mermaid” is dismal, and the box office in the mainland is only 100,000 in 4 days
Disney’s live-action film “The Little Mermaid” will be released nationwide on May 26. The pre-sale tickets have been disappointing and it has just broken through the 100,000 yuan mark. Foreign film critics were also surprised that the pre-sale box office of “The Little Mermaid” hit the lowest among Hollywood movies. Some netizens even joked that the pre-sale box office of “The Little Mermaid” in mainland China is less than the ticket sales of the opening 10 minutes of Shanghai Disneyland

Directed by Rob Marshall, the film stars Halle Berry as The Little Mermaid, Jonah Hall-King as Prince Eric, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula the Octopus Sea Witch. Based on the 1989 animated film version, the film tells the story of the little mermaid who lives in the sea, after falling in love with the prince, resolutely abandons her country and race, becomes a human being, and pursues love.
