The animation project of film producer Radhi Meron was the only Brazilian to reach the finals of the Japan Awards

With over 370 registrations, the animation “Grandma’s Grandma of the Great Engineering Lab”, the collaboration between Oz producers and the dream of the circus, has been selected as the Japan Award, an important international award, held annually by the Education Television Broadcasting Association, Japan’s public transmission network, to identify and provide educational and cultural products globally.

The “Grandma nana’s Wonderful Lab” series under development explains questions related to natural science and offers an interesting experience for preschool children.

This project is one of the six finalist projects in the Pitch Division category of proposals. It is the only Brazilian project on the shortlist and will be represented by the creator Radhi Meron. The finalists will embark on an intense pitching preparation journey, starting with online meetings in September and October, followed by face-to-face preparations in Tokyo a few days before the event, and concluding with a final presentation in the official schedule of the event. The winning projects will be announced at the award ceremony to be held on November 20th and will receive cash rewards for investing in the projects. If “Grandma nana’s Magic Lab” wins, the money will be used to produce a pilot episode of the series.

About the project

“Grandma nana’s Wonderful Lab” is a 2D animation series that is currently under development. The plot of the story tells of the daily adventures of the brilliant and disrespected scientist Nair jatoba, who conducts the most interesting scientific experiments with ordinary items in the kitchen and helps answer countless questions about the universe from her grandchildren Tito, Lina and Didi. In addition to the animations, at the end of each episode, there is a special live-action moment: real children are conducting the experiments of the day. Inspired by the author’s relationship with his grandparents, the goal of this project is to bring light to everyday science and the knowledge passed down from generation to generation. In an increasingly virtual world, this series aims to encourage children to conduct experiments with their own hands and save the charm of discovery. The character designs of this series were also signed by Radhi Meron, and the sets were designed by the artist Rebecca Monteiro.

Max’s design has been developed through the laboratory for the magic lamp of the mine: Animation Lab’s Pitcher Series, Sao Paulo Business and Conference Center, participated in a 1:1 audio-visual film (Cannes) labor incident, Legal Coproducciony Company’s return-to-school residence in Los Angeles Animacion Leader (Tenerife, Canary Islands), audio-visual Rio2C MAX – Minas Gerais. The slide show of the World Expo.
