The 43rd Golden Joystick Awards Ceremony Approaches: Can “Black Myth: Wukong” Continue Its Winning Streak?

The 43rd Golden Joystick Awards, the world’s longest-running publicly voted gaming awards, will be held in London on November 20, 2025. This year’s ceremony will present over 20 awards across key categories including Ultimate Game of the Year, Best Performance, and Technical Achievement, comprehensively honoring the industry’s standout contributors and milestone creations from the past year.
As one of the most anticipated annual events in the gaming industry, the Golden Joystick Awards are distinguished by their pure public voting mechanism. Last year, the awards set a remarkable record with over 12 million valid votes, fully demonstrating the passion and engagement of the global player community. Among the winners, the Chinese game Black Myth: Wukong stood out, securing two major awards: “Ultimate Game of the Year” and “Best Visual Design,” making it the biggest winner of the night.
Other acclaimed titles also reflected strong player endorsement: ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree, developed by FromSoftware, earned the “Best Expansion” award for its rich explorable content and combat design, while FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH won “Best Storytelling” for its profound character development and compelling narrative progression.
With the 2025 awards season approaching, global players and industry observers are closely watching the upcoming nominations. Black Myth: Wukong’s groundbreaking victory last year not only set a new milestone for the Chinese gaming industry but has also added further suspense and anticipation to this year’s competition. The London ceremony on November 20 will serve as a focal point for showcasing the achievements of the gaming industry in 2025.
