The 2025 International Conference on Cultural Technology and Future Innovation Development
On the afternoon of February 22, 2025, the “International Conference on Cultural Technology and Future Innovative Development – Cultural Technology Integration and New Business Forms” theme forum, jointly organized by the Zhongguancun Zhongheng Cultural Technology Innovation Service Alliance, Sichuan University of Arts and Culture, Italian H-FARM, and H-FARM College, was successfully held at the Innovation Center of Shuanghu Science and Technology Park in Pengzhou, Chengdu. Nearly 200 experts, scholars, industry leaders, and enterprise representatives from the cultural and technological fields of China and Italy gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on the deep integration of culture and technology. Yang Xianwu, the president of the China Technology Market Association and the dean of the School of Cultural Technology Industry at Sichuan University of Arts and Culture, was invited to attend and deliver a speech. He emphasized that the deep integration of culture and technology is a contemporary proposition and an important engine for promoting high-quality economic development.
The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China explicitly proposed to promote the deep integration of culture and technology and cultivate new cultural business forms. Currently, the technological revolution is profoundly reconstructing the ecological chain of cultural production and consumption. From the scenario application of AIGC technology to the sensory revolution of immersive cultural tourism, the integration of culture and technology has not only given birth to new business forms and models but also become an important force driving high-quality economic development.
The core of the deep integration of future culture and technology lies in strengthening platform construction, breaking down the cooperation barriers among universities, research institutions and cultural enterprises, and accelerating the application of technologies such as AI, metaverse and blockchain in the cultural field. At the same time, it is necessary to improve regional coordination and international cooperation, build an international cultural and technological collaborative innovation consortium across regions, and promote technology sharing, talent exchange and industrial prosperity.
This forum brought together top experts from home and abroad, including Vice President Song Yangyang of Renmin University of China and Mr. David Bartolucci of H-FARM, who respectively conducted in-depth analyses and practical sharing on topics such as the integration mechanism of culture and technology and the innovation of new media brands. In addition, experts from institutions such as BOE and Communication University of China discussed cutting-edge topics like AIGC technology and new forms of digital performance.
The successful holding of this forum not only highlights the leading thinking of the Cultural and Technological Innovation Service Alliance in the field of cultural and technological integration, but also injects new vitality into the innovative development of China’s cultural industry. It has also formed several industry consensuses: as a core area of new productive forces, the digital cultural industry needs to continuously deepen the collaboration among schools, governments and enterprises, and accelerate the closed-loop construction of technology research and development, application scenarios and talent cultivation. The popularization and ethical application of AI technology will become the key to activating cultural diversity and empowering the real economy. Participants all expressed that they would take this forum as an opportunity to deepen cooperation and jointly seek development, contributing more wisdom and strength to building a new ecosystem for the digital cultural industry.
As one of the organizers, Sichuan University of Arts and Science stated that in the future, it will continue to leverage its disciplinary strength in “art + technology”, promote the construction of Chengdu Cultural Arts and Technology City (Chengdu Campus of Sichuan University of Arts and Science), and create a digital cultural industry innovation highland that radiates to the southwest. It also looks forward to having more opportunities to promote the prosperous development of artificial intelligence and the digital cultural industry, jointly explore new forms of “culture + technology”, and promote the in-depth application of artificial intelligence in content creation, cultural tourism integration, and educational innovation. This further promotes the deep integration of regional culture, technology and innovation in the context of globalization, and actively contributes the strength of Sichuan University of Arts and Science to the construction of an international cultural and technological innovation and creativity network.
At this forum, participants delved deeply into how to stimulate new productive forces through the deep integration of culture and technology and open up a new pattern for the cultural industry. This is not only an active response to the national digitalization strategy for culture but also an embrace of the global wave of cultural technology. The guests attending the forum all expressed that it provided them with a platform to share wisdom and spark intellectual exchanges. They look forward to strengthening cooperation, pooling innovative forces, and jointly promoting the innovative development of China’s cultural technology through this forum, allowing the flower of China’s cultural technology to bloom on the world stage.
