The 2021 London International Animation Festival – on it’s way!

From Friday November 26 to Sunday December 5 the London International Animation Festival will unleash 295 of the world’s best short and feature-length animated films from every corner of the planet  – the cream of the crop from the independent animation community – directly into London cinemas and into your houses wherever you are.

This is London’s biggest festival ever and it’s super-excited to get it up and running! And we can’t wait to get back into cinemas with lots of animators from the UK and overseas who will be with us to introduce their films, take part in talks and answer questions from the audience. We will be announcing guest names over the next week so keep checking the LIAF website and our social media posts for up-to-the minute news.

We can’t wait to be see you all again at the Barbican Cinema 1 for our traditional opening night double-bill of Figures in Focus: Up Yours! followed by the British Showcase. And we’ve loads of filmmakers joining us on the stage. After the Figures in Focus screening Abigail Addison, curator of the programme will moderate a screen talk with filmmakers

Comfort Arthur, Stacy Bias, Birgitta Hosea and Lily Ash Sakula.

 

And then at 8:40pm taking to the stage to introduce their films will be a roll-call of some of the UK’s most shining talents – 12 filmmakers will be joining LIAF Director Nag Vladermersky to introduce their films.
