The 2020 London International Animation Festival is on it’s way

LIAF 2020 IS BACK AND THIS YEAR WE’RE ONLINE – WITH LIMITED SCREENINGS IN-CINEMA AT THE BARBICAN
FROM FRIDAY NOVEMBER 27 TO SUNDAY DECEMBER 6
We’re back and we’ll be bringing the best of the worlds independent short and feature-length animation into your homes in just over 6 weeks time.
We’ve trawled our way through 2,700 entries and have picked 205 of the world’s best, mind-blowing animated films to screen in our competitive and specially themed programmes.LIAF 2020 marks the 17th anniversary of the festival, celebrating the best of the world’s independent animation alongside industry talks and panel discussions from a stellar lineup of industry insiders.
And this year we have some big news – we will be moving online for 2020, bringing the best in animation direct to your home. For some that means missing your annual trip to London for the festivities but for many more that means being able to attend LIAF for the first time. Everything you love about LIAF is being transformed into a virtual version; screenings, industry panels, filmmaker introductions and talks.
Screening Passes and tickets will be available to be pre-booked online. Whether you’re streaming for one day, the full 10 days or opting for unlimited access to all events, we’ve got you covered. This is a great opportunity to get creative, try some new things and take the things people love about LIAF and make it more suited to an at-home experience.
For the last few months we have been researching the best platform to securely showcase the films for our audience while also incorporating a social component. Screening window times will be extended so people can work them into their schedule.
Themed competition programmes, specially themed programmes and feature films will be released daily from 28 November to 6 December, running alongside live panel discussions.
There will be a limited number of in-cinema screenings at the Barbican but with socially distanced seating and reduced attendance levels.
More information about LIAF 2020 will be rolling out in the next few weeks including pass and ticket prices and programming details.
