Tencent Commits Over ₹100 Million to Boost India’s AVGC “Orange Economy”

Tencent has announced a multi-year initiative to support the growth of India’s Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector – widely known as the “Orange Economy” – with an investment of more than ₹100 million (approximately US$1.08 million) over three years.

The company has signed separate three-year Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with two key Indian industry bodies:

  • Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry
  • Game Developers Association of India (GDAI)

The partnerships focus on talent development, curriculum design, mentorship, startup support, and industry collaboration, aligning with India’s national goal to train and employ 2 million AVGCXR professionals by 2030.
