SummerMovie Season of 2018 Receiving 17.4 Billion, “Dying to Survive” Topping the List with 3 Billion

“Dying to Survive” is the 5th film in the mainland market with a box office of over 3 billion.

According to the data provided by the National Film Board, in the summer of 2018 (June 1 – August 31), the national movie box office was 17.399 billion, an increase of 6.74% compared with last year’s 16.3 billion.

There are 24 of the 137 films released this summer. Among them, 5 films exceeded 1 billion, and box office accounted for 55.57% of the entire schedule. The box office champion of the summer file is “I am not a drug god” (3,098 million). The film is also the fifth film in the mainland market with a box office of over 3 billion.

As of August 31, 2018, the total box office of the year was 45.833 billion yuan (previous year: 39.612 billion yuan, an increase of 15.7%). The annual box office exceeded 56 million films, including 30 domestic films and 26 imported films.
