SPARK 2025 Tencent Games Conference

The SPARK 2025 Tencent Games Conference was held online on the evening of April 22. For the first time, the event was divided into three major sections—“Development,” “Publishing,” and “Investment”—unveiling the latest updates on 46 domestic and international games, including 25 new titles. These updates covered both future developments for already-released games and new information on upcoming projects, spanning self-developed titles from Tencent’s major studio groups as well as agent-published games.
The conference also featured segments like the “New Game Review Panel” and “Face-to-Face with Developers,” where producers and designers of eight games engaged with players to address feedback and questions. Through continuous exploration of game genres, IP content, and innovative gameplay, along with ongoing optimization of operational services, Tencent Games aims to deliver more diverse and higher-quality gaming experiences for players.
In terms of self-developed titles, Tencent showcased high-quality works such as Honor of Kings. Honor of Kings: World, a spin-off of the original game, introduced an open-world gameplay experience, allowing players to team up with familiar characters. Additionally, Peacekeeper Elite (PUBG Mobile in global markets) was announced as Tencent’s first mobile game to integrate DeepSeek’s AI model, featuring commandable AI teammates. The PC version of Dark Zone Breakout, titled Dark Zone Breakout: Infinite, received a comprehensive upgrade in graphics and controls. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Mobile celebrated surpassing 1 billion global downloads, with new gameplay modes and map updates planned for the second half of the year.

Beyond new releases, the conference highlighted Tencent’s strategic shift in gaming. Since 2023, Tencent has promoted the concept of “Evergreen Games”—referring to titles generating over 4 billion yuan in annual revenue with 5 million peak DAU on mobile or 2 million on PC. This strategy has been validated by successes like Teamfight Tactics (Jin Chan Chan Zhi Zhan) and Delta Force: Hawk Ops (San Jiao Zhou Xing Dong).
