Included in this year’s first ever Feature Film Competition is the Oscar nominated and internationally acclaimed Czech animator Michaela Pavlátová’s newest film; My Sunny Maad..

When Herra, a Czech woman, falls in love with Nazir, an Afghan man, she has no idea about the life that awaits her in post-taliban Afghanistan, nor about the family she is about to join. A story detailed by it’s director as laying on ‘humor and well observed everyday details of family life’, My Sunny Maad is a feminist animation of countless secrets and impressive depth.

There is an exclusive online Q&A event with Michaela Pavlátová herself to the Festival, which is live on Wed 17 Nov at 20:30. Ticket is necessary for the event.
