Rai Com SPA Introduced Its MIPDOC and MIPTV 2019 Line-up

Rai Com, which is the sales arm of Italian pubcaster RAI, has the pleasure to introduce its MIPDOC and MIPTV 2019 line-up, consisting in the best products available for international distribution.

Rai Com focuses on foreign countries taking advantage of a favorable international trend that is characterizing the areas in which it is present with its audiovisual offer, from fiction to “Rai foreign channels”, from cinema to documentaries, kids programs, animation, music and sport.

In April, Rai Com will he heading to Cannes from Torino where company will have attended its traditional congress “Screenings” (April 3rd-6th) with over 120 international buyers attending.

TV Series

In reference to Rai Fiction’s offer, Rai Com will bring to the market some series that will air in autumn on the RAI channels.

Among the newest productions:

Pezzi Unici, a generational narrative between social drama and thriller, starring Sergio Castellitto, produced by Rai Fiction-Indiana Productions and directed by Cinzia TH Torrini

Mentre Ero Via, a global-scale drama set in Verona, which tells the story of a woman and her extraordinary capacity for rebirth after struggling to regain her life. This is a Rai Fiction-Endemol Italy production, featuring Vittoria Puccini and Giuseppe Zeno

The two productions for which RAI this year has distinguished itself in the global panorama of the non-english-language product:

My Brilliant Friend”, directed by Saverio Costanzo. In collaboration with Freemantle, Rai Com distribution involves the territories  CIS+CEE

This year is the 20th anniversary for the international acclaimed series Detective Montalbano, produced by Rai Fiction with Palomar, with brand new episodes finally available:

Detective Montalbano – The Other End of The Line (1X105’ – 2019), directed by Alberto Sironi, produced by Rai Fiction and Palomar.

The arrivals of migrants one after another almost every night, and Montalbano faces this emergency only with his few men, who work –non-stop. Kids & Family

Offering peaks of creative excellence in the kids & youth sector, Rai Com brings to the global entertainment market an evolving catalogue with library titles, new international acquisitions including partner Rai Ragazzi newest productions for Rai YoYo and Rai Gulp.

Broadcasted for the first time on Rai Gulp kids channel in February 2019 JAMS is a TV miniseries (10×24’) raised out from the conviction that the most effective weapon again sexual harassment is prevention. Co-produced by Rai Ragazzi and Italian production company Stand by Me, the series tells the story of 11-year-old Joy, who withdraws from her friends and activities when a middle-aged family friend becomes attracted to her. The series is aiming to help kids understand the risks of sexual harassment, detect when something is wrong, overcome shame and loneliness, and ask for the help of friends and adult intervention.

The multiplatform project Fumbles, together with its latest TV series Fumbleland (live action/motion-capture animation 26×7′) produced by Rai Ragazzi and JB Productions. An English learning and spelling project aimed to engage children from 3 to 10 years old through TV contents, games and activities set on different age targets. A wide experience of learning in an exciting and innovative way, already available on the VR platform High Fidelity.

The upper pre-school comedy series Woof Meow is made in Russia, produced by AA-Studio, and narrates the fun and entertaining stories of a group of puppy dogs and cats who enjoy real and imaginary games and adventures together.

Documentaries

Thanks to a new framework of co-production agreements signed with important European and international television groups such as Arte, France Televisions, RSI and NHK, Rai Com has renewed and enforced its documentaries content offer.

One of Rai Com exclusive documentaries distribution goal is to serialize Italy’s most extraordinary heritage such as Alberto Angela:

Meraviglie, the international version already distributed in over 40 countries will have its second season with a further 6 episodes
