PS Awards 2018 Released, “The Ancient Scrolls 5: Horizon VR” and Three Other VR Works Won the Prizes

On the afternoon of December 3, 2018, the PlayStation Awards 2018 awarding ceremony was held at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan. A number of awards have also been announced. Among them, three works won the ‘PlayStation VR Award’ – “Warriors not Arrogant VR”, “GT Racing Sports” and “The Ancient Scrolls 5: Horizon VR”.

Among them, “Warriors not Arrogant VR” and “GT Racing Sports” are Sony’s first-party products, both of which are exclusive to the PS VR platform, while “The Ancient Scrolls 5: Horizon VR” is a cross-platform work. According to vgchartz’s statistics, the PS VR platform’s “The Ancient Scrolls 5: Horizon VR” has a global sales volume of 890,000 sets while sales in Japan and Asia are about 160,000 sets. It is undeniable that such excellent sales have used the power of the “Ancient Scrolls” IP to a certain extent, which has undoubtedly enhanced the confidence of BioWare in developing VR games. Perhaps in the future, more games of BioWare will revive on the VR platform.

The PlayStation Awards 2018 awards are available from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018. On PlayStation Awards 2019 next year, VR games including “Universe Robots”, “Tetris”, “Borderlands 2 VR” will become strong contenders for the ‘PlayStation VR Award’. It is believed that the award competition next year will even be more fierce.
