Nominations Now Open for First Ever DIGY

Organized by team with extensive industry and indie expertise,

the inaugural DIGY Award show is prepping for early 2025 online broadcast

Following from the DIGY (Dope Indie Games of the Year) Award show announcement earlier this year, the call for nominations is now open here.  Organized by a team of seasoned game industry and event production veterans, this new annual awards event focuses on indies, celebrating the games and the talented people behind the craft of game development.  The first DIGY Award show will air online on Twitch, YouTube, IGN, GameSpot and Steam, planning for January 2025, with the air date to be finalized shortly.

The DIGYS will help boost visibility for some of the best games of the year across many different gameplay styles and genres (including most challenging, horror, cozy), innovative, visuals, hidden gems, retro, tiny teams, first timers and more along with two Dope Indie Game of Year categories – one open to voting by players along with the judge’s selection. The DIGYS will also establish a special hall of fame, adding selected honorees for lifetime achievements in indie gaming with each year’s DIGY awards show.

“Our teams are always looking for ways to help build awareness for the amazing work of indie developers around the world and from all communities, which helped inspire this brand new award annual show focusing on these creators and their craft,” said DIGY co-founder Justin Woodward. DIGY co-founder Justin Burnham added “There will be no fluff in the DIGYS – it will be all about the games and the talented people who make them. Showcasing what these teams can do with the little resources some of them have in a fun celebratory way is what this is all about.”

With decades of industry and indie category expertise, the team organizing the DIGYS brings experience from The MIX (Media Indie Exchange), South by Southwest, DreamHack, Devolver, IGN Plus, Good Shepherd, Saber Interactive, 3D Realms, DICE Summit, Black Voices in Gaming, LucasArts and Telltale Games to the DIGYS.

Award nominations are open through November 22, 2024 for games that have or will release through the end of this calendar year.  Additional details and criteria are posted at digyawards.com.
