Nominations Announced for 2019 BAFTA Awards

‘Incredibles 2,’ ‘Isle of Dogs’ and ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ receive nominations in the Animated Film category; ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,’ ‘First Man,’ and ‘Ready Player One’ nominated for Special Visual Effects.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced nominations for the 2019 EE British Academy Film Awards.Nominees in the Animated Film category are Incredibles 2, Isle of Dogs, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Isle of Dogs also received a nomination for Original Music.In the Special Visual Effects category, nominees are Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, First Man, and Ready Player One.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald also received a nomination for Production Design, alongside The Favourite, First Man, Mary Poppins Returns, and Roma.

First Man also received nominations for Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Editing and Sound, as well as Supporting Actress for Claire Foy, while Mary Poppins Returns also received nominations for Original Music and Costume Design.

Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma, meanwhile, is also nominated for Best Film, Film Not in the English Language, Director, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, and Editing.

The British Short Animation nominees are I’m OK (Elizabeth Hobbs, Abigail Addison, Jelena Popović), Marfa (Greg McLeod, Myles McLeod) and Roughhouse (Jonathan Hodgson, Richard Van Den Boom).

The nominations were announced by Hayley Squires and Will Poulter at BAFTA’s London headquarters. The EE British Academy Film Awards take place on Sunday, February 10 at the Royal Albert Hall, London. The ceremony will be hosted by Joanna Lumley and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One and BBC One HD. The ceremony is also broadcast in all major territories around the world.
