New Clip For Director Henry Selick’s Stop-Motion Animated Film WENDELL & WILD with Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key

Netflix has shared a new sneak peek at its stop-motion animated film project Wendell & Wild, a horror adventure film that comes from Henry Selick, the director of classic films such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline.

The movie stars Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key as two “hellishly funny” demon brothers who recruit a teenage girl named Kat Elliot (Lyric Ross) to summon them to our reality, but she demands an unforgettable adventure in return. The footage shows more of the film’s main character, Kat (Lyric Ross), who becomes entangled with two demon brothers, voiced by Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. Peele also co-wrote the script with Selick, based on an unpublished book by Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman.

Unveiled as a part of Netflix Geeked Week 2022, the spooky video sees Kat (Lyric Ross) sneaking into a school in the dead of night. After slipping into a classroom and breaking into the teacher’s desk, the rebellious teenager discovers what she’s looking for: A seemingly haunted toy she calls Bearzebub. The clip ends by zooming out on a shot of Kat’s boombox, teasing fans to keep their eyes open for future announcements.

“I reached out to him [Peele] and talked about the idea for the project, and meeting and getting to collaborate with him as well as Keegan-Michael Key, has been a dream come true for me,” Selick said of the project. “Wendell and Wild was an old idea for me, and Jordan wanted to come on as more than just voice talent. He wanted to collaborate, to be a producer, to work on story and writing, and the project has changed in so many good ways as a result of working with him.”
