Henry Cavill will not play Superman? The foreign media “Hollywood Reporter” exclusively reported: neither of Cavill and Warner Bros. has confirmed this, yet Cavill is to end his career and separate from Warner Bros. soon.

It is reported that Warner had intended to let Cavill be a guest performer in the new film of DCEU “Shazam!/ Captain Marvel, but the two sides did not reached an agreement and the source said that “the future door for Superman has already been shut up.” It is revealed that Warner now focuses on the “Super Girl” movie. The movie will focus on the girlhood of Super Girl when Superman is still a baby, which does not match the age of the Superman played by Cavill.

It is also reported that Warner is unlikely to make another Superman movie in the near future, and an insider of Warner said: “Superman is like 007. After a while, new actors must be selected.” The report also pointed out that Ben Affleck might or might not return to Warner’s independent film Batman which is being planned(circulating for a long time without being confirmed).

It is said that the idea of Cavill guest-performing in “Shazam!” has not been confirmed because of the conflicted schedule.” The report said that this coincides with the news that Cavill has recently signed an agreement with Netflix to play the main character, Jellot in its TV series wizard adapted from the highly-anticipated novel and game.

The report also said that Warner was trying to transform the DC Extended Universe in a new direction as the past few DC movies had some “wrong parts”. At present, except that Cavill and Affleck may quit, the protagonists of other superhero single movies that had been shot or confirmed to be shot will stay, such as Gal Gadot in “Wonder Woman”, Zachary Levi in “Shazam”, Jason Momoa in “Aquaman” and  Ezra Miller in “The Flash”.

The spokesman of Warner Bros. then issued a statement on the report through “Hollywood Reporter”: “We have not made any decision on the future Superman movie, but we have always respected Henry Cavill and got along well with him, which has not been changed.”

Cavill’s agent Danny Garcia calmed everyone down, saying that “Superman’s cloak is still in his closet”, and that while Warner developed comics of the DC universe, they are both partners of Cavill.

Cavill released a video in which he wore a suit saying “The Comet Weightlifting Team” and a superman doll saying “an Exciting Day.”
