When death is no longer the end, but merely a pause — what choice will a lost soul make? Set in a world where the boundary between life and death is gradually blurring, Ghost Hunting Journal invites players into a modern tale of ghosts, secrets, and unresolved destinies.

When humans die, most souls ascend to the afterlife to await reincarnation. However, some souls remain in the mortal world due to deep attachments or unfinished business. These beings are recorded by the celestial system as “Spirit Permanent Residents (SPR)” — more commonly known as “lingering spirits.”

As the celestial realm prioritizes resources for largescale soul recycling, these unprocessed spirits gradually fall into a “limbo state.” Most eventually fade into oblivion, but a stubborn few grow increasingly powerful and begin to affect the real world, giving rise to urban legends and paranormal events.

Against this backdrop, an ancient profession has been reborn in modern times — the Psychic Agent.
